HOME ACCESSIBILITY · YAKIMA, WA

Yakima home accessibility upgrades, measured and installed locally

Most people would rather not move. They want the stairs to stop being the reason a parent sleeps on the couch, or the front step to stop being the thing that makes a visit hard. Josh Shoemaker is a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist and a licensed general contractor who has spent 20 years making Yakima homes work for the people in them.

Every project starts with a free in-home visit. You get an honest recommendation and a firm price before any work begins.

Getting in the door, getting between floors and getting clean safely. These are the jobs families call about first, and each one gets its own page with the details.

Wheelchair Ramps

Peak Pro Home Services is a full-service EZ Access dealer in Yakima. We measure, sell, and install wheelchair ramps across Central Washington, from a threshold ramp over one raised lip to a modular system with platforms and turns. Free in-home measurement.

Every ramp starts with the rise at your door. We measure it, check the room you have for the run, and tell you plainly which system fits.

Stair Lifts

Peak Pro Home Services sells and installs Harmar straight stair lifts across Yakima and Central Washington. We measure, install, and safety-check every lift with a licensed elevator technician. Free in-home measurement.

A lift is only as good as the staircase it rides on, so the visit covers the rail run, the landing at each end and where the seat folds out of the way.

Walk-In Showers

Peak Pro Home Services installs walk-in and wheelchair-accessible roll-in showers across Yakima, a safe, low-threshold alternative to climbing over a tub wall and far cheaper than a full tile remodel. Free in-home assessment.

Every ramp is sized by one rule

A comfortable ramp rises one inch for every foot of run, the 1:12 slope. That is why the first thing Josh brings to your door is a tape measure. The rise at your entry sets the length, and the length decides whether the ramp is a straight run, has a landing, or turns back on itself.

The smaller fixes that prevent the big falls

Not every home needs a lift or a new shower. Often it is a bar in the right place, a toilet at the right height, or a rented ramp for the months a person needs one. Josh will tell you which, and he does not sell what the house does not need. Looking at a whole-house plan? See our senior home services.

  • Grab Bars and Handrails

Anchored into wall studs by a licensed local contractor, because a bar that only grips drywall is not a safety device. Bathroom first, then the hallway and the steps.

  • ADA Toilets and Fixtures

Comfort-height and ADA-compliant toilets and accessible fixtures. We coordinate licensed trades where the work requires it.

  • Vertical Platform Lifts

Harmar lifts that carry a wheelchair or scooter straight up a porch or raised entry where a ramp will not fit.

  • Ramp Rentals

Month to month, sized and installed by our team, no deposit. Buy it later or schedule a pick-up when you are done.
